Draft — requires professional review
This Medical & Wellness Disclaimer is a working draft, written in plain English to describe how KohiShifa actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer and may change before commercial launch. Clauses we already know need specialist review are marked “Requires professional legal review before launch”.
Not medical advice
KohiShifa is a general-wellness and self-organisation tool. It helps you plan routines, log habits and notice patterns in what you record. Everything in KohiShifa — trackers, goals, insights, mindfulness exercises, articles and AI companion replies — is general information to support everyday wellbeing. It is not medical, psychological, nutritional or any other kind of professional advice.
KohiShifa is not a medical device, and it isn’t intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition. Never ignore professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or saw in KohiShifa.
Requires professional legal review before launch. Confirm the product and its marketing stay within “general wellness” positioning for regulatory purposes — for example, the FDA’s general wellness guidance in the US and MHRA guidance on software as a medical device in the UK.No doctor–patient relationship
Using KohiShifa — including the AI companion — doesn’t create a doctor–patient, therapist–client or any other professional relationship between you and KohiShifa, our team or anyone else.
We don’t monitor your entries, and we can’t respond to them. If something you record suggests you might need support, KohiShifa won’t alert anyone. Please reach out to a professional, someone you trust or one of the services listed at the top of this page.
Check with a professional first
Please talk to a doctor or another qualified professional before making changes to your routines — such as how much you drink, how you sleep or how active you are — especially if you:
- are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding;
- have a long-term health condition, such as a heart, kidney or liver condition, high or low blood pressure, diabetes or a mental health condition;
- take prescribed medication or are under medical care;
- are recovering from an illness, injury or surgery; or
- have a history of disordered eating, or find that tracking fluids, activity or routines makes you anxious.
If tracking anything in KohiShifa starts to feel stressful rather than helpful, it’s fine to pause, change your goals or stop altogether.
Hydration goals
Your daily water goal is one you choose yourself. KohiShifa doesn’t calculate or recommend how much you should drink.
Fluid needs vary from person to person, and with things like body size, activity, climate, pregnancy and health. Some medical conditions and medications mean people need to limit or carefully manage how much fluid they have, and drinking a very large amount of water in a short time can be harmful. If you’re not sure what goal is right for you, ask a healthcare professional.
Sleep entries
Sleep entries are self-reported: the bedtime and wake time you type in, plus an optional 1–5 rating of how rested you feel. Sleep durations and averages are estimates calculated from those entries. They are not clinical sleep measurements, and KohiShifa doesn’t connect to wearables or sensors.
Your entries can’t tell you how well you actually slept or whether you have a sleep disorder. If you have ongoing trouble sleeping, snore loudly, have been told you stop breathing during sleep, or often feel very tired during the day, talk to a doctor.
Activity and movement
Activity planning helps you schedule and log movement that you choose. KohiShifa doesn’t design exercise programmes and doesn’t know your fitness level or medical history. Start gently, build up gradually and choose activities that suit you.
Stop and seek medical advice if you feel chest pain or pressure, severe shortness of breath, dizziness or faintness, an irregular or racing heartbeat, or pain that is sharp or doesn’t go away. If symptoms are severe, call your emergency number.
Mood labels and reflections
Reflection entries let you choose a mood label, such as “calm” or “tired”, and write about your day. These labels are a personal journaling aid. They are not a mental health assessment, screening tool or diagnosis, and a chart of your moods is not a clinical measurement.
If you’ve been feeling low, anxious or not yourself for a while, or your mood is affecting your daily life, please talk to a GP, doctor or mental health professional. You deserve support from a real person.
Mindfulness exercises
Breathing and mindfulness exercises are offered for general relaxation. They are not therapy or treatment. If an exercise makes you feel dizzy, light-headed, panicky or distressed, stop and breathe normally. If you have a heart or breathing condition, or experience panic attacks, check with a professional about which exercises suit you.
The AI companion
The optional AI companion uses a configured Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude model to offer general wellness ideas and encouragement. Please keep its limits in mind:
- Replies are generated automatically and labelled as AI-generated. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation.
- It will not diagnose conditions, recommend or adjust medication, prescribe diets or calorie targets, design intense exercise programmes, or present itself as a doctor, therapist, dietitian or other licensed professional.
- No human reviews its replies or watches conversations in real time.
- If a message suggests someone may be in crisis, KohiShifa shows a safety message with the crisis resources above instead of an AI reply. It can’t recognise every crisis and can’t contact anyone for you — if you or someone else is in danger, call your emergency number.
More detail is in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Insights, streaks and goals
Streaks, completion rates, charts and weekly insights are calculated only from what you log. They describe your entries, not your health. A gap may simply mean you forgot to log something; a long streak doesn’t mean you’re healthy, and a broken one doesn’t mean you aren’t. Goals are targets you set for yourself — not medical recommendations.
Blog and educational content
Our blog and wellness tips are general information written for a broad audience. They aren’t personalised to you, may not reflect the latest research, and aren’t a substitute for professional advice. Where we refer to sources, please check them yourself, and talk to a professional before acting on anything that could affect your health.
No endorsements or clinical validation
KohiShifa hasn’t been clinically tested or validated, and it isn’t endorsed by any medical body, healthcare provider or professional organisation. We don’t describe it as “clinically proven” or “doctor approved”, and we don’t publish testimonials or health claims.
The crisis services and other organisations mentioned on our website are listed for your convenience. Listing them doesn’t imply any partnership with, or endorsement of, KohiShifa.
Results vary
Everyone is different. Building steady routines helps many people feel more organised, but we can’t promise any particular outcome — physical, mental or otherwise. Your results depend on many things outside KohiShifa’s control, including your health, circumstances and the support around you.
